Insomnium have released a new video for “Shadowlife,” the first preview of their upcoming album, due out this October.
The song mixes heavy, crushing passages with more melodic and atmospheric moments, setting the tone for what’s to come on the band’s 10th studio album. The track was produced by Miiro Varjus and Insomnium, and mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios.
Directed by Coldstore Productions, the video adds a visual layer to the song’s themes of loss, time, and acceptance.
Vocalist Niilo Sevänen calls the track a gateway into the new record, while guitarist Markus Vanhala describes it as a more immediate, melodic opener that still keeps the band’s core sound intact.
