Australian deathcore outfit A Night In Texas have released their new single, “A Primal Conditioning,” the latest preview of their upcoming fifth full-length album, The Darkest Side of Humanity, due out September 4 via Unique Leader Records (pre-order).
The band also premiered an accompanying music video for the track, which follows the previously released single “Metastatic Misery.”
Discussing the new song, A Night In Texas said: “‘A Primal Conditioning’ explores the idea that beneath the veneer of civilization lies a nature that can never truly be erased. The track examines the instinctual drives, impulses, and behaviours embedded within human DNA—traits forged through millions of years of evolution that continue to shape our actions regardless of morality, culture, or progress. It questions whether humanity is genuinely in control of its destiny or simply acting out ancient biological programming disguised as free will.”
They added, “Driven by relentless aggression and suffocating intensity, ‘A Primal Conditioning’ is a dark reflection on the animal that still exists within us all, exposing the uncomfortable reality that some aspects of human nature may be impossible to overcome.”
Produced by guitarist Cory Judd and mixed and mastered by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy, Ingested, Despised Icon), The Darkest Side of Humanity is described as the band’s darkest and most extreme release to date, blending blistering speed, crushing heaviness, and oppressive atmosphere while exploring themes of mortality, suffering, instinct, deception, and the darker side of human existence.
The album will feature guest appearances from Rheese Peters (Babirusa) on “The Chronicles Of Nihilism” and Ryan Vail (Synestia/Larcenia Roe) on “The Infinite Maw.”
