New claims emerge about Sid Wilson’s reported Slipknot exit

New details have surfaced regarding Sid Wilson’s reported departure from Slipknot.

According to TMZ, the decision to remove the longtime DJ and keyboardist from the band was allegedly not a sudden one. Citing sources with direct knowledge of the situation, the outlet reported that Wilson’s bandmates had grown frustrated with his behavior over an extended period, particularly the way he allegedly treated other members of the group.

TMZ further reported that Slipknot had planned to announce Wilson’s departure themselves later this week, but those plans were disrupted after the outlet broke the story on Friday. According to the report, the early leak left the band frustrated because they were no longer able to reveal the news on their own terms.

Neither Slipknot nor Wilson has publicly addressed these latest claims.

TMZ first reported on Friday that Wilson had been informed he was no longer a member of Slipknot after more than 25 years with the band. The outlet cited a source with direct knowledge of the situation, though no official reason for the reported dismissal has been confirmed.

Since then, speculation has continued online. Slipknot guitarist Jim Root previously encouraged fans not to rush to conclusions, writing on Instagram Stories:

“Don’t believe every thing you read. Stop. Think. Take a breath. Sit with it for awhile. Maybe. Just maybe even wait until there’s more information.”

Mick Thomson’s wife, Stacy Thomson, also appeared to reference the ongoing speculation with a pair of social media posts quoting Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, while Wilson himself recently returned to social media to promote his merchandise store without commenting on the reports.

Wilson was recently seen in public for the first time since reports of his reported Slipknot departure surfaced. According to TMZ, he was spotted arriving at a recording studio in Los Angeles, but did not address the situation or comment on his current relationship with the band.

As of this writing, Wilson’s reported status with Slipknot remains unconfirmed by either party.
