The speculation surrounding Sid Wilson’s reported status in Slipknot continues, with another social media post from someone close to the band drawing attention.
Stacy Thomson, wife of Slipknot guitarist Mick Thomson, shared a cryptic message to her Instagram Stories that many fans have interpreted as a response to the ongoing rumors surrounding Wilson.
Rather than directly addressing the reports, Stacy posted a sarcastic quote from the 1986 film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off that jokes about relying on secondhand information. While she did not mention Wilson or Slipknot by name, the timing of the post has led many fans to believe it was a lighthearted commentary on the speculation circulating online.
She said: “My best friend’s sister’s boyfriend’s brother’s girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who’s going with a girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it’s pretty serious.”
The post comes shortly after Slipknot guitarist Jim Root also urged fans to be patient, writing on Instagram Stories:
“Don’t believe every thing you read. Stop. Think. Take a breath. Sit with it for awhile. Maybe. Just maybe even wait until there’s more information.”
On Friday, TMZ reported that Wilson had been permanently removed from Slipknot, citing a source with direct knowledge of the situation. According to the report, Wilson was informed Friday afternoon that he was out of the band, though no reason for the reported decision was disclosed.
As of this writing, neither Slipknot nor Wilson has publicly commented on the report, and Wilson’s status with the band remains unconfirmed.
