Former Bad Wolves singer Tommy Vext has posted a new music video clip featuring a cover of the Rihanna mega-hit track “Bitch Better Have My Money” — watch/listen below. If you recall, the cover track premiered late 2020 through Bad Wolves’ Patreon page.
If you missed it, Vext exited Bad Wolves at the start of 2021, with Vext stating that he had “very different political and spiritual beliefs” from the band. Vext later noted that he thought ‘cancel culture’ had come after his band, and that he was threatened, ridiculed and blackmailed and smear campaigns were launched to destroy his career.
Moving forward, Vext launched a super successful GoFundMe campaign mid-January, which thus far has raised over $178,000. The crowd-funding effort was set in motion to help Vext launch his solo career. Since then, Vext has uploaded cover tracks to his official YouTube and socials, counting songs from Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, Nirvana, Justin Timberlake and more, which were recorded when Vext was still in Bad Wolves.
Vext’s goal is to release a new solo album, though, as per a March 2021 update via his GoFundMe campaign, he noted, “It is clear that the original album I made last year will either not come out or be given to another act on the label to perform as their own,” he added, “Unfortunately fighting this would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and take years to get resolved so I have been financially bullied into submission on this issue.” Vext also said that his planned covers album “is still sitting until the legal agreements can be signed off on.” On the upside for Vext, he noted that his biography is about 60% edited and is getting closer to being officially unleashed.
Regarding the below Rihanna cover video, Vext commented, “Well this was a wasted of 10k.”
