Sid Wilson refers to himself as a Slipknot member amid ongoing exit reports

The ongoing questions surrounding Sid Wilson’s status in Slipknot have taken another turn.

During the World Scratch Invitational this week, Wilson appeared as a co-host under his DJ Starscream name. While addressing the crowd, he introduced himself by saying, “What’s up ya’ll? Sid, DJ Starscream/#0, from the world famous Slipknot, how ya’ll doing tonight?” You can watch video of the moment below.

The appearance comes after reports surfaced claiming that Wilson had been permanently removed from Slipknot. TMZ initially reported that Wilson had been fired from the band, though neither Slipknot nor Wilson officially confirmed the report.

Additional claims later emerged suggesting that Wilson’s reported departure was allegedly the result of growing frustration among his bandmates over his behavior. TMZ also reported that Slipknot had planned to announce his departure themselves before the story was leaked.

The speculation surrounding Wilson’s status also led to a number of cryptic social media posts from people close to the situation. Stacy Thomson, wife of Slipknot guitarist Mick Thomson, shared a post that many fans interpreted as a possible reaction to the reports, while making no direct mention of Wilson or Slipknot.

Kelly Osbourne, who shares a son with Wilson, also posted a series of emotional messages on social media around the same time, leading to further speculation among fans. Osbourne did not mention Wilson or Slipknot by name in those posts.

Slipknot guitarist Jim Root also addressed the growing speculation, urging fans not to believe everything they read and to wait for more information.

Now, Wilson has publicly referred to himself as being “from the world famous Slipknot,” adding another wrinkle to the situation.

That comment does not necessarily confirm that Wilson remains an active member of Slipknot, and the band has yet to publicly clarify his current status. For now, Wilson’s own words are the latest public indication that he still identifies himself with the group.

Wilson has been Slipknot’s turntablist since joining the band in 1998, performing under the #0 designation and his DJ Starscream alias.
